My Painting Practice

Before diving into painting, I studied History of Art at the University of York and earned a diploma from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. I have worked with leading cultural institutions and galleries, always with the belief that art should be accessible to all.

My paintings are informed by this background—rooted in scholarship, but always expressed in a joyful, approachable, and contemporary way. In 2017, I moved from England to Paris—a pivotal moment in my artistic journey.

I believe fine art should not be intimidating: it should invite curiosity, spark conversations, and enrich everyday life.

My Creative Process

My approach to painting is intuitive, layered, and hands-on.

I often work on multiple canvases at once, allowing colour, form, and gesture to evolve naturally across a collection. Using a mixture of acrylic paint, inks, and mixed-media techniques, I explore themes of identity, memory, heritage, and resilience. My figurative and abstract art uses bold lines and vibrant palettes to express energy and presence, while maintaining a sense of intimacy.

Each brushstroke is a response to my lived experience and research as both an artist and art historian.

My paintings are created for everyday collectors—people of all ages who believe that art should not only belong in museums but also in their homes, lives, and communities.

Art Exhibitions and Themed Collections

I create and exhibit my work in collections that tell a story. My exhibitions to date include:

Warriors (2018) – celebrating strength, body politics, and resistance.

Shadow (2018–19) – exploring absence, resilience, and the interplay of light and dark.

Storm (2022) – abstract works capturing movement, chaos, and rebirth.

Coal (2023) – mixed-media figurative paintings inspired by fire, memory, and transformation.

Each collection is both personal and universal, reflecting the human form, the environment, and the shared struggles and joys of life.

Philosophy and Mission: Art for All

At the heart of my practice is a simple but powerful belief: art should be for everyone.

This philosophy drives not only my paintings, but also my hand-decorated candles and linocut cards. By creating original artworks, functional art objects, and accessible printed materials, I aim to break down barriers and invite more people into the world of art.

Whether through a commissioned painting, a candle designed to be lit and lived with, or a card that becomes a keepsake, I want my work to remind people that art is not only for galleries—it is for everyday life, every home, and every person.
